![]() ![]() Time 20 hours in 2 monthsģ/ Limited tournaments (evo and draft). Ladder (limited) = 3 packs (more difficult to clib) + 15 000 gold + 360plat of AA cards (2 packs)= 5 packs. 10 hours a week 9 weeks = 1.170.000 golds / 90 hours / 36 booster pack worth.Ģ/ Ladder (constructed) = 7 packs + 39 000 gold (1packs) + 480plat of AA cards (3 packs) = 11 packs. Here the numbers on a 2 month period after the 2 inital weeks :ġ/ Arena : 13 000 gold / hour. Week 3 : time to farm the frost ring Arena for golds ! Use your golds, ask veteran players to give you for free the cheapest cards, most of the expensive cards can be looted in the campaign. Week 2 : continue campaign and time to build a cheap Arena deck to farm gold. Ask veteran to give you free cards, keep your golds Week 1: enjoy the campaign, create one or two character (prefer orc warrior or venner clerc) and play, learn the game. Some maths and course of action for new players on a f2p mode So way better and rewarding than a f2p game ) and why it is not a silly thing to spend money in a game like Hex but completly absurd to do the same in Hearthstone and co. but in the same time, right now, i have nearly 55 000 plats saved on my account, meant to be spent at next set release ( $ 534) and a $650 collection value (valuable rare and legendary only) > total ~ $ 1200Įven at a only generous 50 % discount resale, if today i want to leave the game, i would end up with a $ 400 benefit So i put in one year a bit more than $ 200. and recently with ladder i put 100 $ to build some tier 1 constructed decks because until nnow i was a mostly a draft player Yes even i spend real money, it is like a investment for me. So we put money because we know we don't throw money throught the windows like in the games you think are superior f2p model. Because yes it is grindy and we don't want to play hex this way. The way to do that it is just very different and reward skill over time.īut lot of others players like me who came in Hex don't care about the f2p possibility of the game. If you are a good to very good player, it's more like 3 or 4 time more. You crack open at least twice more pack in Hex comare to HS in a same amount of time. In fact the time per booster packs in Hex is lower. And you don't need to spend more time than in Hearthstone or other crappy CCG. I think all are at least in gold rank now. The other 3 build some cheaper decks with their ingame saving and do well in ladder. ![]() ![]() With ladder update, 2 of them decided to put some real cash on the game to build at least one very good tier 1 deck for the ladder. With that they play draft and gauntlet without real restrain and thanks to that they all, the 5 of them, earn between 30plat by just playing the limited (draft, evo) competitive part of the game.Īnd they have yet a very good amount of gold saved and they keep farming no more than 2 or 3 hours a week now (gold to spin chests) With $ 80/100 ingame currency value you can at minimum open 200 booster packs just by playing the game. This reprensents between 10 to 12 hours of weekly play. Today 4 of them earned more than 1.5 millions gold. I explained them how to be a f2p players if they want and i gave them some commun and unco i can spare. I have coached 5 steam new players since steam release (+ 2 who gave up to be fair). Then again, (but i am lying, i known, i know.) If you like RPG stuff in card game's PvE content, go for it. The fact that the ways for enemy troops to attack you is reduced from 4 to 2 (troops with flight and without (not counting 'unblockable')) makes managing a defense lot easier than in DoC. Of the gameplay: Not as complicated compared to DoC's rows and lines, melee, flying and archer troop types with their own skills. IF you're into PvP stuff I quess you have to make a some kind of a investment though. I mainly play the game in this thought: I'm playing the game not because I have to grind for gold but because I want to level up my champions and make all kinds of different skill stuff with the talents. As you can probably quess already I've no interest in the PvP part of the game, only campaign. This is how they managed to buy me in to the game. The main reason I got excited about Hex was the PvE campaign portion with champions with own skill etc. ![]() I played a lot of MMDOC so if someone played both and can make a comparison it would be great.īefore I moved to Hex, my only experience related to card games was DoC.
